Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how AU SmartTech Solutions (operated by AU Global Ventures Pty Ltd, ABN 61 691 747 869) collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information under the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and how you can access, correct or raise concerns about that information.
What personal information we collect
Depending on your relationship with us, we may collect and hold information such as contact details, business identifiers, job titles, enquiry details, support communications, account details, billing information, project materials, authentication and access records, technical usage data, device and browser information, and marketing preferences.
Where customers use our services, we may also process personal information contained in Customer Data on their behalf. In that context, our handling is governed by the relevant contractual data processing terms as well as this policy.
How we collect and hold information
We usually collect personal information directly from you — when you contact us, request information, purchase services, attend a meeting, subscribe to updates, use our website or software, or take part in implementation or support activities.
We may also collect information from your employer or business, authorised representatives, service providers, payment processors, analytics providers, publicly available sources, and the technology vendors that help us run our business.
We hold personal information across cloud systems, email, our CRM, support platforms, accounting tools, hosting environments, source control, internal collaboration tools, security logs and backups, and take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
Why we use and disclose information
We collect, hold, use and disclose personal information to respond to enquiries, onboard and support customers, provide our services, authenticate users, secure our systems, process payments, send operational notices, improve our products, comply with legal obligations, manage disputes, and communicate with customers and prospective customers.
We may disclose personal information to our personnel, contractors and advisers, and to cloud, hosting, communications, payment, analytics and support vendors, where reasonably necessary for the purposes above. We do not sell personal information.
Overseas disclosure and direct marketing
We do not currently disclose personal information to recipients located outside Australia. If this changes — for example, if we begin using an overseas-based service provider — we will update this policy to name the countries involved and take reasonable steps to ensure any overseas recipient handles personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
We may send marketing communications about our services where permitted by law. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in the message, or by contacting us at sales@ausmarttechsolutions.com.au.
Data breaches
If we experience a data breach involving personal information that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Access, correction and complaints
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us at sales@ausmarttechsolutions.com.au. We may need to verify your identity before processing a request, and there is no charge for making one.
If you have a privacy concern or complaint, please contact us with enough detail for us to investigate and respond. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the OAIC at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Retention, cookies and updates
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected, or to meet legal, regulatory, dispute-management, security, backup and legitimate business recordkeeping requirements.
We use cookies and similar technologies on our website and applications — see our Cookie Policy for details.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The version published here, with its effective date, is the current version.
